France establishes its roadmap for 5G and launches four priority courses of action

To prepare France for tomorrow’s innovations, the Government has established a roadmap to facilitate the development and deployment of 5G, which includes the work programme for the Electronic communications and postal regulatory authority (Arcep). Making 5G a priority is consistent with the actions being taken at the European level to meet the growing demand for connectivity, and to make European Union countries more competitive. This follows through on the agreement reached between the Government, Arcep and mobile operators on 14 January, aimed at rapidly achieving a high standard of coverage across the whole of France, by stepping up the pace of 4G rollouts.
